Lock down really gave me time to read books I had on my shelf that I didn’t know existed, except when I dusted around them. The title caught my attention and once I read the blurb I knew what I was doing for the next three days.
Synopsis
As teenagers, Poppy Carlisle and Serena Gorringe were the only witnesses to a tragic event. Amid heated public debate, the two seemingly glamorous teens were dubbed ‘The Ice Cream Girls’ by the press and were dealt with by the courts. Years later, having led very different lives, Poppy is keen to set the record straight about what really happened, while Serena wants no one in her present to find out about her past. But some secrets will not stay buried – and if theirs is revealed, everything will become a living hell all over again . . . Gripping, thought-provoking and heart-warming, The Ice Cream Girls will make you wonder if you can ever truly know the people you love.

My thoughts
Honestly the book cover had me fooled the blurb had me intrigued but neither fully prepared me for the book. As the book progresses you can see how most of it will turn out. The book was darker then I expected and I must warn you the abuse might be a trigger for many. I was pulled in emotionally by the turmoil the girls went through and the realization one stupid mistake made you in your teens can have effect well into your adult life. It was a not so gentle reminder that secrets have a way of eating you up and they always do come out. Also I just found out she has just published a sequel to this book titled “All my lies are true” !! 💃💃💃💃 Have you read this book or any of her other books be sure to let me know in the comments section and don’t forget to subscribe.
Must be an interesting book. I thought this must be about girls who love ice cream.
🤣🤣🤣🤣 not at all. This is one of those, do not judge a book by it’s cover.
